An Amish Romance
As the first official contest entered by Participation Trophy, I made it my goal to do something a teensy bit special. Who doesn't love Amish inspired romance novels? Will Mark's shunned brother ruin Grace's future plans? Will Grace and Mark's wedding be blessed by her father? What got said-brother shunned in the first place? So many questions I need answers to! I know I'm intrigued. How about you?
Well, Molly Jebber and website-for-romance, NightOwlReviews.com, thought it'd be great to host a contest and spread the word on Grace's Forgiveness by offering a free copy of the book and an outstanding $25 Amazon gift card to one lucky reader.
Cause nothing says love like a 15 year old shut-in holding a quilt.
I first came across the contest on Facebook Page 24/7 Contests and Giveaways. Here's my step-by-step:
- Clicked thru on FB Page 24/7 Contests and Giveaways
- Redirected to nightowlreview.com to the Grace's Forgiveness Giveaway page
- Scrolled down through synopsis and directions

- Clicked on FB Log In to enter this giveaway
And now things get confusing.
- From there, I was taken to Molly Jebber's website where I faced another click-thru to enter!

- Clicked-thru and was taken BACK to the NighOwlsReview page. WTF!

- After a few turns in what felt like the frustrating ending of a choose-your-own-adventure book, looping around and around, I realized there was a bug in the FB Log In.
- So clicked through "Use Your Email".
- And just like that feeling when you finally click on the right socket wrench in a low-budget puzzle game, I was elated when the below menu appeared.

- Choices, choices. Each type of entry gave me one entry point.
- I entered by leaving a blog post comment. To do so, I had to open a Night Owls Account! Ugh!
- This is what I wrote:

- To increase my chances I also followed both the author and the website on Twitter.
Overall, entry took me a very frustrating and tedious 10-15 minutes but a very entertaining 3 minutes for writing my blog post comment.
Summary: The bugs in logging in with FB made the experience excruciating and having to sign up for accounts was even more of a slap in the face. If it weren't for the enthralling summary of Grace's Forgiveness and my love for Amish culture, I may never have reached the end of the contest.
