My kid is THE CUTEST!

Nothing like a good ole fashioned contest based on our vainglorious need to show off one's own children. COUNT ME IN!

And I'm not kidding guys. My kids get more social media coverage than old Heath Ledger hashtags and Africa combined. It's just the way of the times.

NYMetro Parents is hosting a photo contest hitting every nerve of proud-parents. Platform choice is, of course, Facebook - the last bastion for late Millennial parents to feel lit. (Btw, I googled "trendy words for cool" to write that joke).

It's the prize that makes this contest enticing. First Grand Prize winner gets to be on the cover of NYMetroParents and a family vacation to Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in the Pocono Mountains. It's the cover of the magazine that excites me the most. Never mind that I haven't ever heard of NYMetroParents before...

God, now that I think of it, maybe I should've run this passed Homeland Security or something.

Anyway, entering the contest was a smooth and easy task. Here's how it went:

• Found on Facebook with a quick search #photocontest
• Followed directions on site

• Filled out short info box

• Uploaded my kid's photo from 11 months ago (it's so cute though!)

• Shared on Facebook to get those likes!

• As of now, my little guy is trending at a humble 19 likes and a few comments. Cross your fingers.

• I even went the extra step and shared it on Twitter and Instagram.

Summary: Everything was made easy during this contest. The form to fill out on Facebook was short and concise. Uploading the photo was easy. There were no bizarre restrictions. One short coming - Instagram was not shareable. I had to upload my own pic and copy/paste the link-to-vote myself, which, in turn, followers will have to copy/paste.
