Seattle’s Tallest Giraffe Baby is Coming!
Woodland Park Zoo is a zoological garden located in the Phinney Ridge neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. Tufani, an 8-year-old giraffe, is expecting her first baby this summer! Giraffe pregnancies tend to last 14 to 15 months which means the baby is due sometime between mid-May and early July 2017. This would be the second viable giraffe birth at Woodland Park Zoo since 1997.
The zoo has an online baby pool contest currently asking people to help them count down to the arrival of Seattle’s #tallestbaby by submitting their hunches on the baby’s birth date and sex for a chance to win an up-close, behind-the-scenes visit with the baby giraffe for them and five of their friends.
Below is the screenshot of the hunch I submitted: I guess the baby will be born on the Mother's Day this year (05/14) and be a girl.
Summary: The overall contest experience was smooth and straightforward. The landing page is pretty user-friendly and I didn't encounter any issues that would make me quit the contest. All I had to do to enter the contest was to submit my hunch and leave my name, email address and phone number. One recommendation to keep participants engaged is to ask them to follow Woodland Park Zoo on social medias after submitting their hunches so that they can be updated about Tufani and her upcoming baby.
