Can't We All Just Get Along?

Snapchat filters for me is like everyone else's cup of coffee on a Monday morning - a necessity. A little pick me up which instantly brightens the ordinary and adds a sliver of productivity to the day.

Given my nature it's not a surprise that I jumped at the opportunity to test a Snapchat contest.. not to mention the prize - exclusive LOVEPhilly sunglasses. Hells yes.

What I had to do:

•  follow @GlassU NEU on Snapchat
• Wait for their Snapchat filter to go live on Friday at 5pm EST
• Send them a screenshot of my photo with the applied filter

What really happened:

• After following them on Snapchat the Eager Beaver in me was counting down the days till Friday for the live filter
• Punctually at 5pm on said day, I opened the app and searched ferociously for the filter while thinking how au naturale I wanted my portrait to be
• Repeated rounds of scanning and sadly... the filter was nowhere to be found

Slightly dismayed and a little in denial I sent GlassU NEU a chat seeing if there was an error in the system. I didn't want them to think we were spying so I portrayed a level of airheadedness in my message: "Hi! So silly question lolol I was trying to look for your snapchat filter but couldn't find it 

:( Is there anything you can do?"

Here is their response:

Of course it had to location-based. But this seems like something beyond their control. And yes, I will take that discount, thank you very much.

Overall, it took me 4 minutes to actually complete the actions. I have to say that their customer service was prompt. And my discount is personalized with my username (squeals in delight). But the worst part about this was how I had to wait for 2 days after following them before discovering I was ineligible due to location.
